Cody Sanderson Mixed Metal Butterfly Pendant Enhancer

One Size ONLY

The transformative beauty of Mother Nature is captured in this inspiring butterfly enhancer from Navajo artist Cody Sanderson. An enchanting pear-shaped cabochon of brilliant blue lapis comprises the body, while faceted stones of red garnet frame the sterling silver and brass wings. This enhancer is a whimsical and entrancing study of growth and transformation that will brighten your wardrobe and your smile. It measures 1-3/4" long x 2-3/4" wide and features a large snap hinge bail. Made in America with gemstones from around the world. This piece was inspired by the Butterfly Symphony necklace, a unique collaboration of four award-winning Native designers. Click on the Inspiration tab for more details.

The 2010 SWAIA auction gala necklace was a collaborative effort by award-winning designers. Roderick Tenorio, Veronica Benally, Fritz Casuse and Cody Sanderson. Each Native Designer added their own elements to the necklace to create a piece that integrated different styles into one outstanding look. Inspired by nature, the necklace features butterflies created by each designer and Native symbols and flowers throughout. The necklace was sold for over $24,000 and generated significant interest by collectors. Each artist involved designed pieces that were inspired by the necklace, including two collaborative efforts by all four.

This butterfly design was inspired by Cody's work on the 2010 SWAIA auction gala butterfly necklace. It can also be found on the collaborative bracelet inspired by the same necklace.

For exclusive behind the scenes footage of how the necklace was designed as well as the 2010 auction itself, follow this link Butterfly Symphony.

Like all fine jewelry, Carolyn Pollack Sterling Silver Jewelry should be handled carefully. Store jewelry in a plastic bag, dry and wrapped in tissue paper, when not being worn or displayed. Clean sterling silver with a silver polishing cloth when necessary, but never subject to chlorine, silver dips, chemical solutions or ultrasonic cleaners, as these substances can cause the natural gemstones to discolor. Never wear jewelry in a swimming pool.
