Clean sterling silver with a silver polishing cloth when necessary, but never immerse in chlorine, silver dips, chemical solutions, or ultrasonic cleaners, as these substances can cause damage to the gemstones. Never wear jewelry in a chlorinated pool or spa.

• A paler blue variety of lapis lazuli, denim lapis is found in the same places as lazuli: Afghanistan, Argentina, Russia, Chile, and the United States.
