• A paler blue variety of lapis lazuli, denim lapis is found in the same places as lazuli: Afghanistan, Argentina, Russia, Chile, and the United States. Denim lapis is the color of denim cloth due to calcite inclusions. It enhances spiritual development and generates mental clarity and emotional healing.
• The deep blue color of lapis lazuli features golden Pyrite inclusions that twinkle like little stars. It was one of the first stones ever to be used and worn for jewelry. Many of the pendants feature genuine lapis surrounded by a twist rope design, believed to be a symbol of strength, loyalty, and friendship. Recreating the look of double twisted wire, the twist rope design became popular in the 1920s in Southwestern jewelry.

The sunray symbol, representing constancy, enhances the twist rope design in several pieces and reflects the ancient method of communication used by the original inhabitants of the Southwest.
